DreamSave Insights™ is the backend data analytics platform for the DreamSave app. As savings groups use the free DreamSave app in the field, detailed data is automatically collected each time their phone is in range of a network signal. Using DreamSave Insights, NGO partners can view this data in real-time for all groups they support, without the limitations of manual data collection.
Since 2021, DreamSave Insights has supported dozens of government agencies, non-governmental organisations, non-profits and development finance institutions to access real-time, robust and trustworthy data to meet their reporting and tracking needs. Whether a new partner trying to get to grips with the platform or a pre-existing user, the below series of questions seeks to answer those commonly raised by our partners in relation to DreamSave Insights. Why should I use Insights over any other Management Information System like SAVIX?
DreamStart Labs’ DreamSave App and Insights provide superior data analysis and will save you time and money on data collection, entry, and cleaning. The DreamSave Insights interface is also highly intuitive and engaging. You can customize your dashboard to see the metrics most important to you in an easily digestible, visual, and dynamic way. You can filter by factors that matter to your project including how many cycles the group has completed, what phase of the current cycle they are in, and what team members are supporting the groups. Insights offers features to help you manage projects and teams AND provides real-time group-level data so that you will be able to easily spot trends, identify outliers, and adjust programmatic decisions based on the progress of your groups.
What type of data will I be able to view and analyze on DreamSave Insights?
Partners with an active DreamSave Insights licence can view the aggregated financial and demographic data of all affiliated groups once linked through each group’s DreamSave account. Key demographic metrics include members' age, gender, education level, and number of dependents. Key aggregated financial metrics include Cumulative Savings, Average Savings per Member and Loan Fund Utilization Rate among many others.
Partners can also view the information about the formation of groups, such as the number of groups formed and the average number of members per group. Financial, geographic and demographic information at a group level can also be viewed and downloaded into Excel spreadsheets to analyse the weekly performance of a given group.

Do my groups need to be using the DreamSave App for me to use Insights?
To get the full benefits of DreamSave Insights, it’s best if the savings groups you support use the DreamSave app. The DreamSave app simplifies meetings, automates transactions, allows savings group members to set and track progress towards their own savings goals, and empowers members to better understand their finances. The groups’ data seamlessly syncs to DreamSave Insights, providing your team with real-time access to rich data that can improve your ability to manage projects and support groups.
Will I be able to see member-level data on DreamSave Insights?
Not at this time. De-identified member-level data can however be shared with a partner through PowerBI upon request as an additional paid value-added service.
How soon will I be able to see savings group data reflected on the platform?
Savings group accounts will become visible on DreamSave Insights within approximately 24hours of the account being set up.
How frequently will savings group data update?
Data is refreshed approximately every 24hrs. This means that the latest data will become visible within a day of groups backing up their data to the DreamSave cloud server.
Can I export data from DreamSave Insights?
Yes! Group formation and financial data can be exported into an Excel spreadsheet across all groups as well as at an individual group level.
Can I customise the analysis on DreamSave Insights in any way to better meet my reporting needs?
Several filters can be applied by partners to tailor their view of group data, including by project, time and group age.
How long does it take to get an account setup on Insights?
An account can be registered by partners immediately once groups have been onboarded to DreamSave.
How much does it cost to use DreamSave Insights to monitor the performance of my affiliated groups?
Access to DreamSave Insights is FREE for the first 50 groups onboarded to DreamSave. If additional groups are added to DreamSave, this data can be unlocked for analysis on DreamSave Insights through the subscription payment plan in the below table:
How many users can join an Insights account?
Partners can invite an UNLIMITED number of users to their account at no extra cost.
Can partners manage the data access and permissions of users invited to their DreamSave Insights accounts?

Can DreamSave Insights accommodate consortium-based organizations?
Partners that are part of a consortium are welcome to use DreamSave Insights as long as each consortium member has their own account with DreamStart Labs. Once this condition is met, the consortium leader simply needs to be invited to member accounts as a national-level user to view the data of all consortium members.
Can savings group data be edited on DreamSave Insights?
DreamSave Insights is 100% tamper-proof by design. This means that no user is capable of adjusting or editing any data recorded and saved by a savings group ex-ante. Only savings groups, as owners of their DreamSave account, have the power to edit the data of their last meeting in DreamSave.
Can DreamSave Insights data be integrated into other Management Information Systems like Salesforce?
Partners can upload DreamSave data into any reporting system in one of two ways:
Upload data from Excel: Export DreamSave aggregate or group specific data from DreamSave Insights into an Excel sheet. Once exported, partners can format the data as they like and manually upload it to a given external platform or system.
